What organisations can apply for a grant?
Not-for-profit community organisations with a member base of people primarily aged 60 and over are eligible to apply for a Telstra Connected Seniors grant. The following criteria also need to be met:
- The applicant must be a legal entity with legal status such as an incorporated body, co-operative or association; and
- The applicant must hold an Australian Business Number (ABN) and/or provide written advice from the Australian Tax Office that no withholding tax is required from the grant payment
Organisations who do not meet the above criteria, i.e. non-incorporated organisations, may partner with and apply for a grant through another organisation which meets the application criteria.
Organisations are only eligible to receive one grant within a 12 month period.
Grants are not available for the following applicants:
- Individuals
- 'For-profit' bodies
- Government bodies
- Political parties or their candidates
- Organisations based outside Australia
- Organisations which have received a Telstra Connected Seniors grant within the past 12 months
Grants will not be provided to support the following activities:
- Personal, living, medical or interstate/overseas travel expenses
- Equipment solely for personal use and not primarily related to delivery of Telstra Connected Seniors program training courses
- Conferences
- Cash loans
- Retrospective funding
- Commercial activities
- Public appeals and fundraising strategies
- General organisation maintenance or running expenses, except those directly resulting from running the Telstra Connected Seniors program
- Programs with a religious, political or sectarian basis
- Programs outside Australia
- Commercial film making
- Major building works as the sole purpose of the application
