What grant should I apply for?
It really depends on the size of your organisation and how large a program you have in mind. Telstra Connected Seniors offers grants at three levels, from community through to national. See 'What levels of grant are available' for details.
What can I use my grant funds for?
Grants are comprised of cash to assist with buying equipment such as mobile phones or presentation tools to run your training course, and to cover running costs such as venue hire and the time of volunteers. See the 'Rules applicable to local and State based grants' for further details.
Will Telstra provide me with training tools?
Yes, you'll receive a comprehensive information pack in the mail to get you started when your application is approved. You can also download additional tools and training resources from our website. See 'Tools & resources' for what's available.
How do I know if my club is eligible?
Most clubs and groups with a membership base comprised primarily of seniors can apply. Take a look at 'What organisations can apply for a grant?' for more information. You can also call your local Telstra representative to discuss your application in more details.
Who will deliver the training to my club members?
We suggest you ask a technically savvy club member or relative who would like to volunteer to deliver the training but are available to discuss your application. See contact list...
What do I do if my club is not legally incorporated?
Suggest you look to partner with another club in your local area such as a seniors citizens club which is legally incorporated and meets the application criteria.
What can I do if I am not a member of a club?
Suggest you approach local clubs that you may be interested in. Your local council is a great place to start to understand what services and clubs are available in your local area. It may also be a good idea to contact ASCCA to see if they have a club near you.
